Bad, Bad Bystanders

Apparent Abduction in Corona: "Police this week released a grainy, parking-lot security video that apparently shows the kidnapping taking place in a mall lot Sunday.
The woman, who may be a Latina and in her late teens or early 20s, is seen walking from the parking lot to a sidewalk outside the Corona Discount Mall when a black, hatchback coupe races up behind her. She looks over her shoulder, apparently recognizes the car's occupants and flees.
The two men are shown getting out of the car and chasing the woman. One catches up to her, tosses her over his shoulder and shoves her into the trunk of the car. The woman yelled to nearby shoppers to call police. Bystanders apparently did nothing to stop the abduction, which occurred about 6 p.m."

If you see this tape, take notice of all of the bystanders that do absolutely nothing for this poor young girl. Nothing. The police were called by none of them. With all of the cell phones out there, can you think of a better use of them? I realize that Corona has gangs, and that people reasonably do not want to get involved with that, but how can you watch a woman get chased down, caught and thrown in a trunk of a car without at least dialing 911?
